DAIN plating agents: high in functionality, contributing to reducing environmental load

Consistently developing industry leading, environmentally friendly chemicals

Though invisible to the naked eye once applied, metal finishing chemicals are essential in many areas of technology. In particular, our DAIN series is contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge industries such as electronics. Strict regulations to protect the environment have been introduced one after another in recent years. In 2006 the RoHS Directive introduced restrictions on the use of substances such as lead, mercury, and hexavalent chromium in electronic devices sold in the EU. Daiwa Fine Chemicals made an early start in researching RoHS compliant products by developing a lead-free solder plating. Since then we have developed chromate treatments that replace hexavalent with trivalent chromium, and are making progress with research into completely chromium-free alternatives. Our cyanide-free silver plating solution received the Surface Finishing Society of Japan’s Technology Award. We are continuing to develop and enhance this product.
