Daiwa Fine Chemicals (Laboratory) has three main areas of research: metal finishing, corrosion inhibition and organic synthesis. Its accumulated technology and expertise enable the development of original products that other companies are not involved in. We are promoting demand-creative R&D, based on a far-sighted perspective. As we take on the challenge of developing revolutionary technologies and products, we focus on training and developing our research staff.

Our R&D Center carries out a wide variety of research based on organic synthesis, from basic research to new product development. We are successfully pursuing our goal of developing new high-value, high-functionality products with minimum impact on the environment. The R&D Center introduces new technologies to customers and assists them further through collaborative research, often resulting in groundbreaking new products. We also participate in technology exchange with university research laboratories and public research institutions. We will continue to actively invest in the expansion of research facilities and the number of research staff with the aim of raising our R&D Center to a new level.
A part of Daiwa Fine Chemicals Co., Ltd., the Marketing Research and Development Division works independently of the R&D Division. Its engineers explore new avenues that emerge through the sales process, and these become the basis for new R&D and market development. Recent successes include the development of a finishing agent for lithium batteries used in mobile phones.
