We established a local subsidiary in Taichung, Taiwan in 2012 to found a plant that would strengthen our production system and disperse risk in disaster situations. The plant’s construction finished in 2013. It covers an area of 5,000m². Fully equipped with a clean room, the plant mostly manufactures surface finishing chemicals for tin plating in semiconductors and other electronic components. In addition to Japanese companies operating in Taiwan, the company’s salesforce targets Taiwanese manufacturers and customers in the Chinese, South Korean, Southeast Asian, and EU markets.

Daiwa Special Chemical was the first in the world to develop a copper sulfate plating brightening agent for plating on plastics, and still holds the largest market share in both Japan and worldwide. The company has also utilized accumulated technology and knowledge to go into the business of cylindrical plating for gravure printing. Now they handle a wide range of products, from copper sulfate plating additives to chrome plating additives, and all kinds of chemicals used for cylindrical plating.
In 2017, Daiwa Special Chemical teamed up with a local manufacturer to open offices for a new local subsidiary in Thailand. The office serves as a technical services center providing support to local customers, with engineers always on-hand to solve our clients’ problems faster.
